Trimming the Tree with Hannah

December 2, 2011

I was so happy that Hannah was game for trimming the Christmas tree with me!  It was actually her idea!  Between you and me, she did most of the work.  I liked admiring the ornaments before she donned the tree with them.  I love Christmas cheer!  The tree...the music...the hot chocolate!  All that was missing was some magical Christmas snow!  (We didn't actually have hot chocolate.  It sounded good though, right?!)

I love Hannah's face in this one! Ha!

I love a decorated tree!

So much that I could eat it!

I came into my room to see Hannah like this!

We also decorated the little tree in my bedroom.
Next activity:  Soaking it up in the spa.  Sorry folks.  No picture were taken of that one.  :o)

Hiking with Hannah

December 2, 2011

The day before Hannah came, it was 72 degrees and sunny.  Since she was been here, the weather has been less than desirable, cold and dreary.  It is quite ironic.  So much for soaking up the sun in Las Vegas.  Everyone we ran into told her how she just missed the good weather.  Thanks for the warm welcome everybody.  Just kidding.

We were going to go hiking at Red Rock today, but while waiting for the sun to come out and play, we went to a movie. It never did show its bright shining sunny face, until right before sunset.  The sun sets here at 4:30 pm.  We opted to hike in the hills and mountains behind my house instead.  I would have preferred Red Rock, but Hannah and I can have fun anywhere.  I was constantly amused by her new discoveries of wonder at the various aspects of the desert landscape.  All things I had long quit noticing.  It opened my eyes to the natural beauties so close to home.

What I see just over my fence.

Yoga Pose!

Quote Hannah: "I have never seen a cactus that changes colors."  Silly Hannah!  That cactus is red year round.

I have converted her to the peace sign pose.  She crumbled under the pressure!  Bwahaha!

Friendly fellow hikers took this picture for us.

What potential photo-shoot would be complete without jumping photos.  Or in our case, attempted jumping photos.  Hehe!

I made several attempts the capture the sunset.

A sea a houses.

I stood on a pole to get a better view of the sunset.

Create your own caption for this one.

On the way back to my house, Hannah and I ran into my dad, on his own walk.  He took these.

I love this one, because this is the face I always see on Hannah!  A true lover of life!  I don't remember what I said, but it must have been funny.  :o)

Sunset Station with Hannah

December 2, 2011

Hannah and I went to see "Hugo" this day. Why not take a picture in the theater?  Haha!  We took a few.  This was the only one I felt worth posting.

In Las Vegas area, most of the movie theaters are inside casinos. (Hannah was constantly surprised by how many casinos there are...everywhere.  And by how big they are.)  Hannah couldn't resist sitting at a slot machine.  (Notice her rigidly straight arms.  Good girl!  No gambling here.)

My disapproving look.  All in good fun!  It was just for a picture, right?

Las Vegas Temple with Hannah

December 1, 2011

My lovely friend Hannah came to visit me for a few days!  It was so much fun, and I was so happy to have her here.  I love talking, laughing, playing, talking, and laughing some more with her!  It was such a treat!

On the first day she was here, we decided to go to the Las Vegas Temple.  It was her first time going to this temple, and it is one of my favorites!  Going to the temple is definitely one of my favorite things to do!  There is a feeling I experience there that can't be felt anywhere else on Earth.  I love it!  And I loved sharing one of my favorite temples with Hannah.

Visiting the Stotts Again!

December 3-6, 2011

I'll take almost any opportunity to visit the Stotts!  :o)  It was great fun to pow-wow with Rachel and Perry, of course Grant!  I watch him like a cultural anthropologist would.  The things he does are so intriguing!  Haha!

After I took the above picture with the timer on my camera, Grant discovered a new love.  Shortly after the Christmas photos, Grant came up to me and said, "Um...Aunt Megan?  Beep beep beep!"  My thought, Huh?  And then it occurred to me.  He wanted to play with my camera.  Grant took over 30 pictures of himself.  He is so smart!  He knew he was supposed to stand back.  :o)

The kid can't help himself.  He's got rhythm.  That's for sure.

Perry recently made this video.  I thought it was pretty good.  I especially liked the end when he is trying to talk to Rachel.  Haha!

For our FHE activity, we went to the Orem Public Library to see a free concert, featuring the Utah Baroque Choral Ensemble.  It was a fun concert.  I enjoyed the caroling numbers, when the audience and the choral ensemble joined together to sing.

Grant looks like a little hobbit baby!  So cute!  He likes to put on and take off his peruvian hat.

It was great fun to visit my sister and her family yet again!  Always worth it.
