Marshmallow Creations

Chris and I had a fun FHE.  We were supposed to make marshmallow towers, but Chris and I had other ideas.  I brought Yellow Marshmallow Peeps that Chris had given me for Easter, and we were the envy of everyone at the activity.  Hehe!  Chris made a cool peep robot!

My creation is on the left.  I made a mind-altering hat for the peeps.  It was supposed to be a star, but it looked nothing like one.  :o)

General Conference

March 31-April 1, 2012

If you missed General Conference a couple of weeks ago, here are the highlights.  It was great!  The Spirit was strong, and I am looking forward to listening and reading it again over and over again until next conference.  There were so many great talks!



I spent Conference weekend with Chris and his family.  We worked on puzzles while we listened and took notes.  Here are the finished products.

Gender Reveal Party... and the day after

Rachel loves any excuse to throw a party!  And they're fun!  So she threw a Gender-Reveal Party, to find out the gender of her baby.  Mom, dad and I came up for the party.  There were lots of games.

One game had lots of diapers with melted candy bars in them.  We had to smell them and guess which candy bar it was.

Take a whiff of that.  So good I could eat it!

We each had a picture of a baby object on our backs and we had to each other questions to guess what it was.

There was a jar to put name suggestions in.  I suggested the name Carly, and they are actually considering it!

We read a bunch of old wife's tales and determined what she is having based on those.  

The day before the party, Rachel went to the doctor's office and got an ultrasound showing the gender of her baby.  She told the doctor not to tell her what it was, write it on the picture, and put it in an envelope so she couldn't peek.  Mom made an angel food cake, cut it in half, and hallowed out the middle.  A friend of Rachel's got the opportunity to look at the picture first and fill in the middle of the cake.  It was to be filled with strawberries and whipped cream.  If it was a girl, the whipped cream would be dyed pink, and blue for boy.  So when Rachel and Perry cut the cake, the color of the whipped cream would tell them the gender of the baby.  A very fun idea!

Hunger Games Release Party and Dinner

Rachel was throwing a party so Mom, Dad, Amber, Trey, Hailey and I came up to Utah.  The day we got there we went to a Hunger Games Release Party.  I never saw the movie, but I read the books, and the party was entertaining.  Lots of people were dressed up like Katniss and Peeta.  There were games and archery display.  But my favorite part was watching Grant and Trey run around and do their thing.

After the party, we went to Pizza Pie Cafe for dinner.  It has become a tradition.

Mini Family Reunion

March 10-11, 2012

I haven't seen Blake for two years.  It was such a special treat to see him.  And we got to meet his girlfriend Deanna of a year.  I think I already mentioned this in a previous post.  Amber was already going to be in town with Trey and Hailey.  Jason was traveling for work, so she decided it would be a perfect time to visit. Rachel and Perry heard that Blake and Amber were going to be here, so she, Perry and Grant made the trip as well.  Everyone was here but Jason.  We had an impromptu mini family reunion!

We played lots of games as a family.  

We went to the park.  The boys b-balled it up.  Even the little boys.

Yea!  It was great fun, and I am so grateful I was able to see so many members of my family!
