Getting Ready for the Big Day!

July 20, 2012 and before

This is my last post on this blog.  Goodbye single life, hello married life!  My new blog is The Clark Family.  From engagement to wedding, I had a little over eight weeks to prepare.

Kathrin, the mom of the kids that I nanny, took me to Sephora to get a bridal makeover.  It was great to get an idea for what kind of look I want to go for on my wedding day.

Kathrin got her friend to arrange my flowers for me.  I ordered mini calla lilies.

The day before the wedding, many people got together and helped us decorate the Cultural Hall for the wedding reception.  It took all day.  I am so grateful for everyone's help.

Taking a break...

Amber was my Reception Manager.
Hannah and I went to Target to pick out some lipstick.

It is really difficult to try different colors.  I needed a clean slate, so I used what was in my purse.  It was functional.

All the girls went out to Sweet Tomato as an informal rehearsal dinner.  The guys had a bachelor party at Chris' house.

Thus ends my single days!

Bridal Shower in Henderson

July 12, 2012

Lyn Milne, Judy Winn, and Linda Weaver planned a bridal shower for me.  I was very impressed with their generosity.  The party was beautiful, and it was weird to think it was all for me.  It was a relaxed party with mingling, food, and gifts.  About 17 people came.  I had a lot of fun.  Everyone who came was from the Anthem Ward except for my future mother-in-law Terri, and sisters-in-law Stacie and Rebecca.  People spoiled me with their gifts.  I got many cool things.

The Rest of My Utah Trip

June 13-18, 2012

More from Rachel's Blog:

So on Friday we went to Bridal Veil Falls as part of the bridal theme of the weekend. We packed a lunch and walked to the falls (from the parking lot). It was maybe a mile in.

Peace

Rachel had a super cute Baby Shower that her visiting teacher put on.  It was lady bug themed.  So cute!

I love how proud Grant looks!

Bridal Shower in Utah

June 15, 2012

Except from Rachel's blog (this is what happens when you get behind, you get lazy):

So Megan decided to come visit me for my baby shower this weekend. Then I got the idea, since I am one of two maids of honor for her wedding, that I should throw her a bridal shower! I love to plan parties and this was obviously the perfect occasion to do so. I went with a picnic theme. It was meant to be low key and laid back. Twelve guests attended including me, Megan, and my mom. Oh yeah! Since my mom heard we were going to wedding dress shop that weekend and have a bridal shower too she thought it would only be fair if the mother of the bride come along as well. What a weekend! We were sooo busy.  Anyway, back to the shower.  Picnic themed. We served dinner: Costco Rotisserie chicken, corn, watermelon, baked beans, pasta salad, pink lemonade, and water. Then we played two games, one was to answer as many questions correctly about the bride as you can, and the second was to guess how many answers Megan would get right on questions that Chris answered about himself before hand. All in all the games were fun and I think everyone had a great time. For dessert we served cup cakes and root beer floats. We meant to play Volleyball after that but it seemed like everyone needed to get going by then. I gave some bright orangish-red geraniums as a bridal favor.

I was so grateful to Rachel for planning this wonderfully fun Bridal Shower!
